Ride a 3-5 mile course over beautiful hunt country. The objective is to ride as close to ideal hunting pace as possible within your Flight speed. The team with the closest finish to the "flight leader" time **without going too fast** place the highest. In a real hunt, a rider is not allowed to pass by their flight leader, they must control their horse and stay slower - thus, in a hunter pace, a time faster than the pace time of the flight leader is disqualifying. Two divisions are available! You will not know the optimum times (the mystery is the fun part!) but 1st Flight is faster- in general you might do a lot of trotting, a bit of cantering, and some walk breaks. 2nd Flight is slower, usually plenty of walking and trotting, with a canter here and there. There are OPTIONAL jumps, some to 3’3”, many smaller, and are typical natural obstacles and coops found in hunt country. Jumping is not required for any level! NEW IN 2026!
